Netflix has launched a new mobile feature called ‘Moments,’ where specific scenes can be saved to watch over and over again.
It was in an official news article from the streaming service where they shared the news, writing that “a new mobile feature” launched globally on iOS on Monday (October 28) and will be available in the coming weeks on Android.
The company’s latest approach ties in with sharing the specific point of time on social media, making it easier for fans of shows and films to share with their audiences.
In its sharing of the release, Netflix says: “Whether you’re replaying the intense final showdown in BEEF or a spooky twist in Wednesday, Moments lets you save and share it all. And with Season 2 of Squid Game coming on Dec. 26, it’s the perfect time to revisit those nail-biting game sequences from Season 1 and get ready for what’s next.”
The roll-out also coincides with a new Netflix global brand campaign called ‘It’s So Good’ which focuses on some of the most memorable moments – with people speaking about their favorite scene. Cardi B, Simone Biles, and Giancarlo Esposito even make an appearance.
How does Netflix’s ‘Moments’ feature work?
The Moments feature is only available through mobile, with it appearing when a user is watching a show or movie.
Now, when clicking on the screen, a ‘Moments’ button will appear next to where ‘Speed,’ ‘Episodes, ‘Audio & Subtitles,’ and ‘Next Episode’ currently sit.
Once clicked on, the moment in time will automatically save to a My Netflix tab. These clips can then be revisited at any time on a phone and if you rewatch the episode or film it will start playing right from the scene you bookmarked.
It will also allow you to share the moment on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Even if you don’t share it straight away, it can be revisited and shared to socials from the My Netflix tab.
It’s not yet known how many Moments can be saved or if there is even a limit.
