Yesterday, Samsung announced that over 200 countries and territories now have access to Bixby capabilities. Despite its limitation to Korean and English languages at the moment, Samsung has rolled out Bixby globally and it has promised to add more languages to this voice assistant as soon as possible. As we wait for Bixby’s compatibility to be expanded with more languages, this voice assistant is going to get support for Spotify later this year. Samsung announced this during its Galaxy Note 8 event today. With Spotify, Bixby will be able to stream music when the voice command is given to that effect.
Its no secret that the vast majority of us love music and this development by Samsung is wonderful. A Galaxy Note 8 or Galaxy S8 user can simply give a voice request to Bixby to play any music from a specific artist or their playlist and Bixby will stream the music from Spotify. More information about Bixby will be released in the upcoming developers’ conference in October and by then, it is expected that Bixby will be compatible with Spotify thus voice-command Spotify streaming is just a few weeks away.
Bixby is an intelligent interface and not a standalone app. This means that it can assist other applications like Spotify that are Bixby enabled. Spotify, on the other hand, is quite popular amongst Samsung gadgets.
For our Tizen Smartphone users, there are three versions of Spotify, from different developers, that are currently available in the Tizen Store and are compatible with all Samsung-Tizen smartphones (Samsung Z1, Z2, Z3, and Z4).
