Hold on to your hats, because South by Southwest Interactive has added two more days to the schedule with the introduction of the first-ever “Technology Summit“. If five straight days of panels, business cards, booze and talking tech wasn’t enough for you, then SXSW 2011 will be right up your alley.
The event, which is scheduled for March 16 and 17, “will bring together industry leaders from a variety of European, Asian, Middle-Eastern and South American countries for panel sessions that reveal trends and usage patterns in various parts of the world.” From the description, it looks like the summit will go a bit deeper, with “in-depth workshops that provide higher-level tips and analysis, allowing digital professionals and web experts from across the globe to take their career to the next level.”
According to Omar Gallaga of the Austin American-Statesman, the summit will be included for anyone with a badge, including Film and Music attendees, but a location hasn’t been ironed out quite yet. Gallaga points out that it’s the second expansion SXSW has announced this year, with the introduction of SXSWedu last month.
What do you think? Are you up for two more days of SXSW fun? We are…and this year, we might actually run out of business cards.
