At the recently concluded MIPCOM 2017, Samsung Electronics announced a new partnership with INSIGHT TV. INSIGHT TV is a digital action TV channel specializing in entertainment, extreme sports, travel and lifestyle content in Ultra High Definition (UHD) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) quality. Its collaboration with Samsung will allow viewers to enjoy numerous premium UHD and HDR content soon on Samsung TV PLUS.
TV PLUS is a Samsung service, available on Samsung Smart TVs since June 2017. The service allows viewers to enjoy the highest quality UHD and HDR movies through multiple channels directly on their Samsung Smart TVs. Samsung also has a TV PLUS app which has been designed to have a familiar user interface. This makes retrieving UHD and HDR content both simple and enjoyable.
“Our goal at Samsung is to create innovative and valuable technology that makes our consumers’ lives easier and more enjoyable when it comes to watching their favorite content,” said Heeman Lee, Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “In partnership with INSIGHT TV, we are excited to continue to expand our UHD HDR content offerings to further enhance our customers’ domestic viewing experience,” he added.
The new partnership between Samsung and INSIGHT TV will allow Samsung Smart TV users to access up to 400 hours of UHD content from sports, entertainment and lifestyle programs on Samsung TV PLUS.
“We’ve had a fantastic year of making the INSIGHT TV service available to more users around the world. This announcement underscores our commitment to our community, “says INSIGHT TV CEO Rian Bester. “We are pleased to announce this news today at MIPCOM and announce further announcements on new shows, distribution partnerships and content sales in the coming weeks.”
The content is free for Samsung TV PLUS users and will be available from the beginning of 2018 in Germany.
