From June 16 to August 1, Samsung Electronics will host its maiden global TV accessory design competition in collaboration with Dezeen (design and architectural magazine). A total price of €30,000 (Euros) will be available for grabs during this competition. To qualify, users need to submit a good quality QLED TV stand design with a business plan.
Only the best five will be invited to the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2017 to be held from September 1 to September 4 in Berlin, Germany. All five designs will be produced as real stands and displayed at IFA 2017 in the Samsung booth. The overall best will get 8,000 euros. HS.Kim, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said that
“We want to give everyone, including our consumers, the opportunity to show off their creativity and help us design the next big TV accessory,” He added that “Samsung’s ultimate vision is to create an open platform for designers all over the world where they can showcase their ingenuity through unique stand designs that fit into a variety of home environments.”
Samsungs QLED TV accessories were released last month with so much improvement and innovation. Individual customization will be encouraged by these stands while living space will be maximized using the optical cable which removes clutter. Samsung’s QLED TV is very flexible such that it can fit into any part of the home regardless of the home design.
Global TV stand structure standardization was first found in Samsung QLED TV. Samsung has concrete plans to fully penetrate the TV accessory market. Its TV stand is compatible with both the 55-inch and 65-inch QLED TV models. It can also work perfectly with The Frame.
Samsung partners for this competition, Dezeen is one of the largest online design publication house with over 13 million monthly views and 2.8 million subscribers. Dezeen’s main specialization is architecture and design which is just perfect for this event.
Interested participant must submit a 3D sketch of their design, a thoughtful rendering (not copied) and a constructive business plan for the TV stand. Applications and all other processes will be done via Dezeen website.
