Limited Blue Porcelain Bezel For The Frame TV Launched

Remember that artistic Tizen-powered TV “The Frame” released by Samsung earlier this year which closely looks like a piece of artwork hung on the wall? This TV just got better with the launch of a special edition porcelain blue bezel which brings in a new panache to the TV. This new porcelain blue bezel perfectly fits the idea of The Frame which transforms into an elegant piece of artwork when turned off. The availability of this premium bezel for Samsung’s lifestyle TV is limited but it is currently available on Samsung.com. Crafted by Dutch designers Scholten & Baijings, the new bezel further elucidates the vivacity of this smart TV. The designers said

“We are delighted to have collaborated with Samsung to widen the offering for The Frame TV. Once we saw the TV in action, we felt inspired to design the porcelain blue bezel and craft a series of artworks for the Samsung Art Store. What we love most about The Frame, is the opportunity it gives for the consumer to be creative – from the screen transforming into selected art work when on standby to the personalisation element through bezel selection.”

The special edition bezel comes in three sizes as per the available sizes of The Frame. The sizes are 43-inches, 55-inches, and 65-inches which costs £175, £199 and £229.95 respectively.

As a reminder, The Frame was displayed at the 57th Venice Biennale in May this year and it won an innovation prize at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2017) in Las Vegas. It comes with interchangeable bezel which can be personalized to synchronize with your interior decorations. When turned on, it delivers UHD picture quality but transforms into an artwork when off. At launch, officials stated that about 100 paintings and photographs from 37 renowned artists are available for purchase in the Art Store. However, personal images can also be displayed when The Frame is off, for instance, a beautiful image of your entire family. This TV can carry out certain automatic functions like turning on/off to save power when there’s no one in the room using its built-in light and motion sensors
On the Samsung Art Store, three artworks from Scholten & Baijings will also be available. These works are captioned ‘Bright Extraordinary’‘Warm Extraordinary’ and ‘Colourful’. To make purchases, users can sign up to the Art Store on a monthly subscription for £3.99. One-off purchase cost £14.99 per artwork.
