LEGO has revealed six never-before-seen Super Mario Kart sets, bringing Nintendo’s iconic franchise to the world of bricks for the very first time. The sets were originally teased as part of the toymaker’s MAR10 Day celebration in March and give fans and LEGO builders their first full look at the new products, launching on January 1, 2025.
The price of the sets vary considerably, ranging from $14.99 to $79.99 depending on the size. There are also some familiar faces including Luigi, Dong Kong, and Baby Peach joining the team. From motorcycles to flying pirate ships, several new kart designs have been added. The racers can even launch green and red shells.
What’s included in the new Mario Kart sets?
The latest sets can work with the existing interactive Lego Super Mario figures including Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, which can emit sound effects such as horns and the squeal of tires from the Mario Kart games.
The collection also includes a 133-piece blue Yoshi on a motorcycle with Yoshi motifs, a 174-piece set of Mario’s famous red kart with Toad dressed as pit crew, a 387-piece set with Donkey Kong driving a barrel-themed vehicle, a 321-piece set featuring baby Mario and Luigi in a balloon battle, a 390-piece rendition of Toad’s garage, and an 823-piece Grand Prix set that includes a starting gate and three karts.
Simon Kent, LEGO Group’s design director, stated: “We are beyond excited to turbo-charge our LEGO Super Mario universe with the reveal of these latest Mario Kart sets, that we know fans have been eagerly waiting for.
“The brand-new LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets provide an immersive building experience and capture the heart-pounding action of the beloved video game series – showing fans that the world is your track like never before!”
These aren’t the only Mario-themed Lego sets coming soon. Last month, Lego unveiled a 2D-style Super Mario World set, complete with Mario and Yoshi.
