Intel have re-confirmed a report by Reuters that the Atom Z2560 Processor will be implemented in the 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3. Samsung didn’t mention this when unveiling the Galaxy Tab 3 models. But the processor was later verified by Intel themselves. The Atom Z2560 is a 1.6Ghz dual-core processor as part of Intel’s Clover Trail+ line. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is set to become Intel’s best selling Android device yet due to Samsung’s massive market reach.
Intel radio with Clover Trail+ is also inside the 3G HSPA+ and LTE versions. 3G models contain XMM 6262 radio and LTE models contain an XMM 7160. The GPU is an SGX 544MP2 clocked at 400Mhz. According to Intel SoC gives twice the performance apposed to earlier Atom-powered Android devices whilst maintaining “competitive” battery life.
Galaxy Tab 3 models are set to launch later this month.
