Harris and Trump are neck-in-neck, except on Polymarket

TLDR

  • Polls show a close race between Harris and Trump, with Harris slightly leading nationally.
  • Betting platforms favor Trump, with Polymarket showing him at 57.1% vs. Harris at 42.9%.
  • Trump's pro-crypto stance gains crypto-owner support, while Harris supports crypto regulation.

With less than 48 hours to go until the US election is concluded, the winner could be decided upon by very tight margins as the polls have the candidates at neck-and-neck – except for betting platforms.

More than 77 million votes have already been cast, with the remainder of voters heading out to the polls on November 5.

In Project 538’s national poll predictor, Harris only just comes out on top with 47.9% of the votes against Trump’s 47%.

The final New York Times/Siena College Battleground poll suggests another tight result, with Vice President Kamala Harris showing new strength in North Carolina and Georgia while Donald Trump erases her lead in Pennsylvania and maintains his advantage in Arizona.

While others estimate the race to be tight, the betting market Polymarket suggests Trump will win with 57.1% of the votes in comparison to Harris’ 42.9%.

Polymarket is a decentralized betting platform allowing users to place wagers on a wide range of topics beyond just sports. Over the last month, the platform has regularly had Trump as the winner of the 2024 US election.

It’s on betting platforms where the former President is seeing the swing in his favor, with it being unclear why this is happening.

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump make last push as voting nears close

With not long to go, the two candidates have been out and about with appearances across the country.

Donald Trump has consistently spoken out about cryptocurrency, showing his support for the industry to gain crypto voters. The Republican candidate has stated: “If you’re for crypto, you better vote for Trump.”

The current Vice President hasn’t been as vocal on the topic, but a press release published on October 14 stated she would support “a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and other digital assets.”

In research published in mid-September from the Fairleigh Dickinson University Poll, voters who say they own cryptocurrency favor former President Donald Trump.

The results from the report suggest that the Republican candidate is ahead by 12 points among likely voters who own crypto, while Harris leads by 12 among those who say they don’t own crypto.
