Google Pixel 9 Pro US pricing is leaked ahead of launch

TLDR

  • Pricing leaks suggest the Google Pixel 9 Pro will start at $999.99, with the 256GB and 512GB models priced at $1,199.99.
  • Many users on Reddit expressed frustration with the high pricing, questioning the phone's value.
  • The official pricing and details are expected to be confirmed at the 'Made by Google' event on August 13th.

Just days ahead of Google sharing the information about the Pixel 9 Pro at its ‘Made by Google’ event on August 13th, pricing leaks have emerged.

While other elements of the upcoming device have been shared over the last few months through leaks (not Google), the US pricing has remained a curiosity – until now.

A Reddit user who goes by the username ‘5XDylanBISHF’ shared a screenshot of what looks like the Google shopping page on T-Mobile which features the upcoming phone.

From Reddit

The image suggests the Google Pixel 9 Pro will be priced at $999.99. The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL 256GB is listed at $1,199.99 and the 512GB of the Pixel 9 Pro XL is also priced at the same price point.

With the bigger memory option being the same price as the 256GB, it has left many perplexed but some suggest this could be due to a pre-order promo deal.

People are not happy with the alleged Google Pixel 9 Pro pricing

Others aren’t happy with the high pricing, with one Redditor called ‘teachmehow2dance’ saying: “$1200 for XL? That’s gonna be a hell no for me.”

Another person, called ‘2ndcoming_zombified,’ questioned the quality: “I just don’t feel like the phone is worth anywhere near that much money.

“The chip is basically the same one as last year, and even then it was known as the least impressive of the high-end-phone bunch. Combined with the very similar modem that gave users connectivity issues on some carriers (myself included) and I’m not seeing the value.”

The alleged pricing should finally be officially unveiled at the event next Tuesday. On the home page for ‘Made by Google,’ the team has urged fans to “get ready for a whole new era of phones.”

While the full ins and outs of the event are being kept under wraps, the technology giant has said eventgoers can expect “Pixel 9 Pro availability.” It should also feature more insights into Gemini integrations and the full Pixel portfolio of devices.
