Is Monster Hunter Wilds on Game Pass?

Big game incoming alert. Monster Hunter Wilds is about to land and do big numbers we reckon, such is the popularity of Capcom’s franchise, but there have been a lot of good full-priced games of late so it’s understandable that coffers for such expenses may be running low. Is there a chance then that Monster Hunter Wilds could make an appearance on Microsoft’s gaming subscription service, Game Pass? Let’s have a look at what we know so far.

Is Monster Hunter Wilds coming to Game Pass?

It’s bad news for anybody hoping that Monster Hunter Wilds will appear on Game Pass on launch day. It’s not happening, unfortunately. Even by the standards of the huge games we have had in the last few months such as Call of Duty and Indiana Jones, these games have all had some form of tie-in or another with Microsoft. MHW is a AAA Capcom title and there is a huge amount of cash to be made by selling this one in the more traditional manner. So the only way to play the game at launch will be to purchase it.

Will Monster Hunter Wilds come to Game Pass in the future?

Now here’s where things could get a little more interesting if we peek into our crystal ball. The previous MH title, Monster Hunter Rise is available on Game Pass currently and you can purchase the DLC as well. Timeline-wise, after an exclusive Switch launch in 2018, it took almost two years for the game to arrive on Game Pass. Now things are a little different this time as there is no Nintendo exclusivity, but there is definitely a chance that Monster Hunter Wilds will make an appearance at some point in the future, you just might have to be pretty patient if you intend to wait it out.
