Against the backdrop of Elon Musk’s xAI releasing Grok 3, X has grabbed a headline of its own with a rise in the cost of its Premium+ subscription plan.
Although this subscription tier includes access to Grok 3, it represents a steep increase at almost double the price.
The help page for the social media platform details the various X premium plans and the benefits that are included, with the respective costs.
In the United States, the monthly sub for Premium+ has been increased to $50, with the annual cost changing to $350.
Grok 3 is making waves already and its features will be an attraction for subscribers but this is the second price hike within a couple of months. Just before the turn of the year, the former Twitter platform increased the Premium+ plan from $16 to $22 per month.
On this basis, subscribers are now paying more than double for the same tier compared to the costs in November, but the company will likely point to the advances in the Grok product as part of the explanation for the rise.

Elon Musk stated in the livestream video launch of the AI model that it is ten times more powerful than the previous version.
“Grok 3 is an order of magnitude more capable than Grok 2,” said the billionaire mogul.
“[It’s a] maximally truth-seeking AI, even if that truth is sometimes at odds with what is politically correct.”
xAI is further monetizing the new development with some of Grok 3’s advanced features locked behind a paywall. Tools such as “deep search and “reasoning” can be accessed through the SuperGrok plan on the native app.
Some reports have indicated an inconsistency in the actual price points applied to the X Premium+ subscription plan, with TechCrunch reporting a cost of $39.83 per month ($477.95 per year), although the final checkout stage showed an annual cost of $395,00.
