The Tizen store has been a really hot place for new app entries ever since Samsung introduced the Tizen Mobile App Incentive Program. The program awards the developers of the top 100 downloaded apps every month with a $10,000 cash. Many Indie developers have taken this opportunity to release some really interesting and useful apps spread across categories such as games, utilities, entertainment, professional, etc.
Now that we are in the month of August, the list of top 100 downloaded apps for July has been released. Some of the popular apps from Android and iOS which have made their way into the Tizen platform such as WhatsApp, Facebook, SHAREit, MX Player, OLA cabs, etc have clinched their position onto the top charts thanks to their large user base.
However, there are a lot of new Tizen Exclusive apps as well which have made their way into the top 100 list. These apps which are generally developed by smaller firms or Indies are currently what the Tizen mobile platform wants and are the reason for initiating the incentive program. So far that seems to have worked out well as even a few developers accepted that the Tizen mobile app incentive program was a motivation to jump onto Tizen in a recent interview.
