Samsung pay is swiftly and steadily growing. It is currently active in many banks and shopping centers globally. This payment platform is compatible with many Samsung devices ranging from smartphones to wearables. Since the official launch of Samsung Pay, this payment platform has expanded to banks, shopping complexes and ATMs. Now, Credit Suisse’s subsidiary, Swisscard, has integrated Samsung Pay as a new mobile payment option into its range of credit and debit cards. Swisscard issues American Express, Visa and Mastercard cards. Swisscard collaborated with Samsung Pay to meet with the high security and data protection standards.
Samsung Pay utilizes Near Field Communications (NFC) just like other payment platforms. This enables a secured transmission of card information to the retailers. Samsung also uses Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) because some retailers do not have NFC in their system. MST works as an alternative to NFC for card terminals who do not have an active NFC. This allows Samsung Pay to function almost anywhere cards are accepted. Shoppers can securely pay for their purchases using their Samsung smartphone or smartwatch. This payment platform is available to many Samsung Tizen mobiles which are available in the Middle East.
For now, Samsung Pay is supported by Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge (NFC only), Galaxy Note5, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017), as well as the Gear S2 and Gear S3 Classic and Frontier.
