Samsung Pay is now available in Mexico

Samsung’s electronic payment platform, Samsung Pay has been making giant strides in different parts of the world. Having penetrated deep into Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East, this payment platform is now entering deep into South America and it is only a matter of time before it rolls out to the rest of the world. At the beginning of this month, Samsung Pay launched in Canada and now, Mexico just received this safe, seamless and swift payment method. This platform is usually compatible with some smartphones and smartwatches in other parts of the world where it has a wider coverage. However, for a start in Mexico, 15 Samsung devices are currently compatible with this service. These smartphones include Galaxy A3 (2016/2017), Galaxy A5 (2016/2017), Galaxy A7 (2016/2017), Galaxy J5 Pro, Galaxy J7 Pro, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S8+. Obviously, more devices will become compatible with this service in time.

Those who want to use this service in the country should register, add credit or debit cards issued by participating regional banks and make instant payments. Those in the region wanting to utilize Samsung Pay should be able to register for an account and start making payments right away, though they’ll only be able to use credit or debit cards issued by participating regional banks. In countries like India and Sweden, Samsung pay was recently treated to a maintenance update which brings supports for Androids latest major update, Android 8.0 Oreo and other vital bug fixes and stability improvements.
Samsung Pay works almost everywhere because it makes use of Near Field Communication (NFC) or Samsung’s patented Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology. Both MST and NFC are quite popular thus they should be available in many shopping centers. If the center accepts credit cards, there is a very high chance that you will be able to make payment with Samsung Pay in that center. And even when there is no MST, you will probably have NFC thus you can still use Samsung Pay at that terminal. This allows Samsung Pay to function almost anywhere cards are accepted. Shoppers can securely pay for their purchases using their Samsung smartphone or smartwatch.
