Samsung Electronics America has announced that its latest Gear 360 2017 will be available in the U.S. as from May 25, 2017. The Gear 360 will be sold for just $229 which is a highly affordable price for a device which lets users create high-quality, 360-degree photos and videos, or broadcast life’s moments in full 360-degrees live.
The itinerary also includes that the Gear 360 2017 will be available via offline and online sales channels across the United States. The offline channel includes in-store purchase at Best Buy stores, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and U.S. Cellular, while the online channel includes buying from BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, Samsung.com and through the ShopSamsung app.
The Samsung Gear 360 2017 comes with a new design, which is different from the one used on the previous Gear 360. The smart gadget is lightweight and has a compact size which can suitably fit into a pocket. The Gear 360 2017 runs on Samsung’s Tizen OS and also features dual 8.4-megapixel CMOS sensors with a f/2.2 aperture and fish-eye lens on either side. It also features a USB Type-C port instead of the USB 2.0 on the previous version, making it easy to charge the device from a smartphone, if required.
The Gear 360 2017 is compatible with Samsung’s wide range of Galaxy series phones including the newly released Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.The Tizen-powered device is also compatible with many third-party accessories through the universal mount at the base of the device.
