Samsung recently hosted a live webinar session on developing apps and services for the newly launched Gear Sport. The Webinar was conducted by Gear Sport expert and Sr. Product Manager, David Ng who gave us a detailed overview on the all new Gear Sport which runs on the latest Tizen 3.0 operating and happens to be the only current wearable device running on this software.
David also took time to talk about all the unique features that the Gear Sport has to offer such as the unique rotating bezel UX, the more advanced 5ATM durability, enhanced fitness monitoring services and most importantly the IoT Smart Home capabilities. David also addressed a few confusions among most users about how the Gear Sport will function as a VR controller for the Gear VR and also discussed about the kind of business that Samsung is looking to target with its smartwatches such as Airports, Utilities, Payments, etc. Considering that Tizen 3.0 is already being tested on the Gear S3, once the update lands in the near future, one can expect to see most of the Gear Sport exclusive features for now making an entry into the Gear S3 as well.
