KickApps, a provider of enterprise-grade hosted social media platforms, announced the release of KickApps for IBM‘s WebSphere Commerce today. Websphere Commerce users will have the ability to integrate KickApps social media features into their stores and create highly targeted offers based on customer behaviors. The new “eSpots” feature of the product will allow users to create their own widgets to place on other web sites.
KickApps’ Social Graph Engine, a behavior tracking and analysis system, will power the customization process. KickApps has lofty expectations for the approach. “The traditional storefront will be replaced or augmented with a personalized experience woven into the consumer’s natural behavior and social interaction,” wrote CEO Alex Blum on the KickApps blog.
KickApps’ strategy is based around decentralizing its customers’ web presence by spreading it across many sites while still collecting analytics data. Earlier this month KickApps released a drag-and-drop web app developement suite enabling non-technical users to create simple apps for Facebook and other platforms.
KickApps is based in New York City and was founded in 2005. It has several huge clients like HBO, McDonalds and NBC.
