Is NatWest app down? UK banking customers unable to access accounts

Customers of NatWest, a major UK bank, are reporting issues with their apps this morning (Friday, Aug, 30.).

Reports on the website Down Detector began to spike at 7am UK time, with more than 1,000 users running into issues.

Customers are claiming that when they try to make a payment via the app, they are logged out.

Customers react to NatWest app going down

With it being the last working day of the month, it is a payday for many people in the country.

“NatWest is always giving people the worst issues to have on the most important days of the month,” one X user posted. “Can’t approve online payments with the app being down.”

NatWest customer support replied to another customer on X who was unable to access their account.

“My banking app isn’t working either so I can’t pay my credit card or anyone else,” the customer posted.

“We’ve been made aware of payment/transfer issues affecting the app, and our tech team has been working hard on a resolution,” NatWest said shortly after 9am.

“Be sure to give this another go as recovery actions have been put in place, so hopefully everything is back up and running for you now.”

As of 9:44 am BST (4:44 am EST), the bank reported that the issue had been resolved.
