Harvey Norman is now taking pre-orders for Nokia’s first MeeGo-powered smartphone, the N9.
The major Aussie retailer has two versions on offer through its website today: a 64GB model for AU$979, and a 16GB storage variant for AU$829. The phone is also expected to be ranged by all three major telcos in Australia.
Due for release in the next few weeks, the N9 will be Nokia’s first smartphone running the MeeGo operating system — a unique platform built through a partnership forged between Nokia and Intel. This partnership has since broken down, with Nokia publicly declaring that it has adopted Microsoft’s Windows Phone as its primary smartphone platform.
