British tech brand Nothing has revealed the design of its 3a smartphone series, including some new features.
Nothing’s 3a series – the name of which has not yet been officially confirmed – has been revealed on the tech brand’s website. The smartphone is in line with the previous series, with the brand’s signature transparent design at play on the rear panels.
The circular camera panel has a new rear camera module, and there’s also an additional side button that differentiates it from the 2a series.
Nothing had previously confirmed that the 3a series would become available to buy in March. The launch is now revealed to be March 4 at 10am (GMT), according to the website.
What’s new in the Nothing Phone 3a series
Nothing’s typical glyph lighting and transparent panels remain, keeping the brand’s expected look. The camera lenses stand out from the rest of the handset in the 3a series, rather than being flush with the casing like previous models.
There’s also a new button on the side of the phone, below the power button. The function was revealed in a recent YouTube video from the brand, demonstrating that it can bring up multiple split-screen options and implying the possibility of AI-powered features like audio transcribing and text summaries.
The 3a series is expected to follow previous patterns from Nothing, releasing two models within one series: 3a and 3a Pro. Both should be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen three processor.
The change-up in the camera module seems to confirm previous hints that at least one phone in the series will feature a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 6x in-sensor zoom. The redesign of the circular module certainly appears to confirm a focus on camera improvements.
Sign-ups are available via the Nothing website to be kept in the know about the upcoming smartphone series.
