Dragon Ball Sparking Zero split screen functionality explained

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero brings the authentic Dragon Ball fighting experience and a huge roster of characters to boot.

You’ll likely want to test the whole roster out with your friends to see who comes out on top both in terms of your skill levels and the meta picks.

While the go to for playing with friends is via online modes these days, nothing beats some split screen fun, getting your friends round to compete with them in person.

Here, we’ll reveal if Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has a split screen option so you can go back to the classic days of two player gaming.

Can you play Dragon Ball Sparking Zero split screen?

The short answer to if Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has split screen functionality is yes but there are some serious caveats to this.

While split screen play is available in the game, you can only do this on one stage – the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

This is pretty unfortunate considering that there are some great stages on offer in Sparking Zero such as Rocky Land, Planet Namek, and Land of the Kais, and you simply won’t be able to experience these in local multiplayer.

Additionally, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is essentially a blank canvas and doesn’t possess any of the vibrant aspects or destructibility like the others, so again, another disappointing aspect to this.

As for why the developers chose to do this is still unclear but it may be a similar story to crossplay, where it was simply too difficult to implement on all stages and that’s why it’s confined to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber only.
