Polymarket secures multi-year soccer partnership with MLS to boost engagement nationwide

Polymarket, alongside Soccer United Marketing (SUM), has announced a new multi-year partnership deal with Major League Soccer (MLS).

As part of the agreement, Polymarket, one of the biggest names in the prediction market fray, will serve as the Official and Exclusive Prediction Market Partner of MLS, MLS All-Star Game, MLS Cup presented by Audi, and Leagues Cup.

Polymarket and Soccer United Marketing secure MLS deal

The news surrounding the partnership centres on the MLS and Polymarket teaming up to leverage digital platforms to their full potential. This included a focus on improving match experience and a new feature named “second-screen engagement.”

Not much was said about these new features, but immersion seems to be a key takeaway for those interacting with the prediction market’s site and app to “reflect real-time collective fan sentiment around key moments.”

Polymarket CEO Shane Coplan speaks on the deal

Shayne Coplan, Founder and CEO of Polymarket, said, “Through our partnership with MLS and Leagues Cup, we can surface real-time collective sentiment around key moments, matches, and season-long storylines, giving fans a more interactive, data-driven way to experience the game and engage with the world’s most popular sport.”

The move marks a significant step for Polymarket into the biggest North American soccer league and comes on the eve of a special summer tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, and this could be a landmark for Polymarket ahead of the global game’s largest tournament.

The Polymarket release noted the competition, saying, “With the FIFA World Cup arriving in the region in 2026, Major League Soccer and Leagues Cup are entering a new era of visibility and growth, creating expanded opportunities to engage fans in meaningful and modern ways.”

Since Polymarket has returned to North America, there has been considerable momentum surrounding the platform. Major deals have been struck amid the company’s rapid expansion, and one that will coincide with the MLS deal is the DAZN partnership announced in January 2026.

“Through our first-of-its-kind partnership with DAZN, we’re embedding those insights directly into the viewing experience, from boxing to the Champions League, so fans can track momentum, debate outcomes, and engage with sports in a way that’s never existed before,” said Coplan.
