ZenSports announces approval of West Virginia license

The live online sports betting platform ZenSports has gained approval of an interim license in West Virginia for both sports wagering and i-Gaming managed services.

The operator is currently doing business in the state of Tennessee, with VIP Play, Inc being its parent company.

On April 2, the news of the approval of the license in West Virginia was shared through a press release and follows the recently announced market access partnership between VIP Play, Inc and Delaware North’s Wheeling Island Casino.

This marks ZenSport’s expansion beyond the borders of Tennessee, with the interim license also adding iGaming to the company’s book of business.

ZenSports, and VIP Play, expand in the US into West Virginia

An actual date for when the launch will take place isn’t yet known, but the company has stated that VIP Play expects to begin serving West Virginia customers in the coming months.

The CEO of VIP Play, Inc, Bruce Cassidy, said: “The acquisition of our interim Sports Wagering and i-Gaming License in West Virginia marks a significant milestone in our journey to expand, underscoring our commitment to provide innovative experiences to a wider audience.

“As we grow our presence, our dedication to excellence stands firm, and we’re excited to play a role in enriching West Virginia’s dynamic gaming community.”

The news of this was imminent as the company entered into a definitive agreement with Delaware North for market access to the state of West Virginia for sports betting and online casino in December of last year. Delaware North is an entertainment and hospitality company.

As part of the agreement, VIP Play will pay the company a percentage of their online net gaming revenue during the specified term.

This comes just 10 months after it was announced the sports wagering platform would be launched in the state of Tennessee, with this having begun on June 9.
