Warhammer 40k Tacticus celebrates anniversary with Blood Angels reveal

Tacticus. the strategy Warhammer game has revealed the Blood Angels to celebrate the game’s second anniversary.

The tactical mobile game has been a steady feature in the lives of 40k fans across the globe, and this reveal will appeal to the hardcore fans of the original Space Marine chapters.

The Snowprint Studios announcement also brings some of the iconic troops and one of the most storied characters in the universe of Warhammer, Mephiston.

He has survived the Black Rage and kept his mind intact more than once and is known as the “Lord of Death”, one of the greatest psychic minds in the war-torn future of the game.

Warhammer 40k Tacitus turns two

As the top-down role-playing strategy turns two they have harked back to one of the most fiercely loyal, but controversial chapters in 40k history.

Known for their blond curls and alabaster skin, the Blood Angels are every bit the resplendent image of their now-dead Primarch, Sanguinius.

He lost his life in the great Horus Heresy, fighting against his brother in the penultimate battle on the bridge of the Warmaster’s ship. The Blood Angels succumb to a bloodlust that propels them into a spiraling dark rage as they channel their fallen father in his final moments.

The release of the Red Angels coincides with Warhammer 40k updating the rules for the tabletop version of the chapter. The company announced that a new Blood Angels Codex (rules book) and army set will be released soon.

Alongside the news of the new chapter making its way into the game, the Discord community for Tacticus is having a cosplay contest. The winner is set to take home 300 Blackstone (the in-game currency) for “putting a yellow bucket on your head and picking up a chainsaw…as long as you take a picture of the result and post it in our Discord by next Friday.”
