Samsung’s Gear watches gets three new integrated apps that adds safety features

Samsung has signified its intent to broaden the functions of its Gear smartwatches with the addition of three new integrated features. One of the apps is SoloProtect which will be integrated on the Gear S3 and would keep a tab on people who work solo like real estate agents and home aid workers. We also have the Reemo app, that also works on the Gear S3 and Gear S3, which will monitor the health of elderly patients in care facilities. Ability Wearables helps monitor people who work long shifts like construction workers, truck drivers, and healthcare workers – with the functionality integrated with the Gear S3 and S2.
Samsung is said to be planning to showcase the new smart wearable features at the Mobile World Congress Americas holding in San Francisco this week. The tech giant will also be launching a VR solution for fitness centers at the event but details of the VR solution are not known presently.

As stated, SoloProtect is designed for persons who work alone. It offers 24/7 monitoring and communication services, activating emergency alerts, as well as providing geolocation and status checks to businesses that employ lone workers in higher-risk environments. The software is the brainchild of SoloProtect and according to the company’s CEO John Broady, “Safety and reliability are top of mind for all employers, but historically, it has been difficult to manage safety for individual employees operating outside the traditional office setting. He also added; “By equipping workers with a high-quality Samsung smartwatch integrated with SoloProtect, we can help businesses increase the safety of those operating alone in the field, and provide them with the ability to concentrate on their task at hand with greater peace of mind.”
The second app is Reemo and it tracks activity level, heart rate and sleep quality of seniors or elderly inmates in care centers. The Gear S3 and Gear S2 already come with fitness tracking features but Reemo seems to be focused on the elderly in order to aid their caregivers to provide better care. Reemo’s CEO, John Valiton also shed some light on the app, disclosing that it provides  mobility, safety, awareness, and connectivity to create independence in the aging experience.”
Finally, the persons who engage in jobs that can make them fall asleep easily on the job can put on a Gear smartwatch and then connect the Abilities wearables’ real-time health intelligence systems via Samsung’s GearUp platform. The health systems monitor the employee’s state of alertness, letting employer be able to predict and react to employee fatigue on the jobs. This, Ability’s CEO believes will help solve many of the fatigue-driven challenges facing today’s workers and curb risky behaviors such as sleeping on the job etc.
