Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest air conditioning solutions at the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2018 (MCE), held from March 13 to 16 in Milan, Italy, with the aim of strengthening its position in the European HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) market.
Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2018 (MCE)
The MCE, which is held every two years, is the largest HVAC exhibition in the world. More than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world showcase their latest industry technologies in the event, attended by more that 160,000 visitors. During this year’s event, Samsung exhibited its award-winning Wind-Free™ technology, as well as the full line of Wind-Free™ air conditioners (AC) for domestic and commercial use. The lineup included both the 1-way and 4-way AC units.
Samsung had a variety of AC products in display at the event, including the energy-efficient 360 Cassette, the circular air conditioner that provides uniform cooling with a minimized direct wind. In addition, the small-capacity DVM S Eco HR, which can do the cooling and heating actions simultaneously in homes or small commercial spaces, was also on display.
“Samsung is firmly positioning itself as an industry-leader in the global B2B market with our innovative products and exceptional technology. We expect to leverage our expertise with HVAC technologies further in the European market with our acclaimed Wind-Free™ technology and IoT capabilities,” said Charles H. Park, Vice President, Digital Appliance Business, Samsung Electronics.
Wind-Free™ technology
Wind-Free™ technology is one of the most prominent innovations in the field of HVAC. Thanks to the innovative Fast Cooling mode, the Wind-Free™ ACs attain the desired temperature in the real quick time. After reaching the temperature, the ACs maintain the ideal temperature without direct air currents by gently dispersing cold and still air through micro holes, giving a natural cooling effect.
R32 refrigerants
Samsung also unveiled an environmentally-friendly refrigerant alternative at MCE this year, to comply with European environmental regulations. The R32 refrigerants has only one-third of the global warming potential (GWP), compared to standard R410A refrigerant. Samsung claims the refrigerant is characterized by its high-efficiency even in lower quantities.
Customized air conditioning solutions
Last but not least, Samsung also showcased its customized air conditioning solutions for specific environments by dividing its exhibition booth into different zones: home, office, hotel and retail. The solutions include an IoT server, Samsung’s integrated building management solution, as well as a smart home based on SmartThings.
All in all, it was a demonstration of Samsung’s vision of connected life, which it has been showcasing in every major tech events.
