You wouldn’t think that Sony and Samsung would be natural business partners, but it has just been announced that the PlayStation’s game-streaming service will come pre-loaded into Samsung Tizen Smart TVs (and others) next year. The new feature will be called “Playstation Now”, which is already available on the Playstation 4 (PS4) gaming system, and will Initially have 200 PlayStation 3 games available on the platform to stream. The service will be available in the US and Canada in the first half of 2015.
In order to use the service you will need to download an app to your Smart TV, but don’t worry you will not need a Playstation (obviously), but you will however need Sony’s DualShock 4 gamepads in order to control the games. You will have full game functionality like trophies, online multiplayer and cloud-saves for game-progress.
Samsung Tizen TVs will be shown off at CES 2015, but there is no news if Playstation Now will be demoed.
