Samsung Gear Manager for S3 / S2 and non-Samsung Android devices

We’ve been asked the question of How do you connect Gear Manager to non-Samsung Android and iOS devices to the Gear S2 / S3 ? so here is the answer:
The Samsung Gear S3 has made its way to many markets including the US, Europe, and the far east. If you have a Samsung Galaxy Device then you can download the Gear Manager App, that is used to connect to the smartwatch with the phone, from Galaxy Apps Store. If you are using a non-Samsung device you have to do things a little differently.

Gear Manager from Google Play Store

The Gear Manager App that is currently available from the Google Play Store is version 2.2.15092142, but you need to access it by doing the following:

    1. Browse to this link by using your smartphone:  apps.samsung.com/gear.
    2. Choose either if you have a Samsung Galaxy Devices or Other Devices that you want to connect to.
    3. Selecting Other Devices should take you to the Play Store, where you can download and Install the Gear Manager App.
    4. Download and Install.

Gear Manager for iOS / iPhone

The Gear Manager App for the iPhone is currently not available, although it was expected at the start of the year. The iOS Beta program started a few months ago for the Gear S2 (inc 3G devices), Gear Fit 2, and began to incorporate the Gear S3. In order for you to take part you needed to have an iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, 6, 6+, 6S, 6S+ or SE, and be running iOS version 8.4 or later. Users of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have also been able to take part since these devices have now been released.
Whilst we wait for the iOS Gear Manager app to become available users are using the Leaked version that became available. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long now for the official version.
