Plex is now a (virtual) reality on Gear VR and Oculus

If you’re familiar with Plex, you probably know it as one of the most polished media management software in the market. However, the demand for Plex support on Gear VR and Oculus was way too high and the company has finally acknowledged that. The Plex VR app is now available on Gear VR and Oculus, the company announced.

With Plex VR app for Gear VR, users can now stream content from their or their friend’s computers in a jiffy. Watching videos in Plex is way more exciting, thanks to its multiple formats, including 3D, 360-degree, and 180-degree. You also get to choose from different VR environments, such as a luxury loft, drive-in theater, or deep space, for a more immersive watching experience. And there’s no need to copy large video files on your phone. You can stream them straight away from your computer.

The Plex premium service, Plex Pass, is available in monthly, yearly and lifetime subscription options. With Plex Pass subscription, you can co-watch content with you friends, up to 4 individuals. However, you also get to try co-watching feature for free for a week when you start using Plex VR.
