Samsung had a well-thought-out and an innovative approach towards the Gear S2. It was clear that the company had put in great efforts in order to design this wearable. The wearable had a handy circular bezel and good User Interface. The Gear S2 was designed to offer a truly well-rounded smartwatch experience.
Even after two years since the announcement of the Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic, the device is getting updates, this shows us the commitment of Samsung towards its users. The Gear S3 is the companies current ‘Flagship’, however, it still hasn’t forgotten about the previous models and still issues updates every so often.
The company has started rolling out a new update for the Gear S2. The update has been numbered as XXU2EQJ2, with a size of 22MB. Even though it is not a big update, it brings along some great optimizations which help in increasing the battery life. The update also has a couple of security enhancements. As of right now, units in Europe are getting the update, however other regions should get it soon as well.
In order to update the watch, be sure to have it connected to a compatible smartphone and open up the Gear app. In the app, you’ll be able to check to see if an update is available and it should start the download process once initialized.

The Gear S2 has a 1.2 inch circular AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The wearable has a 250mAh Battery. The wearable runs Tizen OS out of the box. The Samsung Gear S2 like any other smartwatch alerts you to texts, emails, and notifications. It also tracks your steps, a runs a number of apps. Recently the watch was updated in which it got many features from the Gear S3.
