
Microsoft announced that its search for a new CEO will continue through early 2014. When Steve Ballmer announced his retirement in August, he promised he would step down from the company once a successor was named. According to reports, many employees were hoping it would be sooner rather than later.

However, Microsoft will enter the new year with Ballmer still at the helm. The company says it has narrowed its search down to about 20 candidates.
