What we tend to find with games like Metaphor: ReFantazio is that a lot of the voice actors have worked on similar projects before and this seems to be no exception with a lot of RPG work, mainly JRPGs but also even things such as Baldur’s Gate III.
Our main protagonist is played here by Caleb Yen who has starred in games such as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Taichi) and Honkai Star Rail (Caelus). He’s also done anime work on series such as the mega-popular Attack on Titan for TV.
Heismay meanwhile is voiced by none other than Phillipe Spall, whose only other gaming voice work is listed as A Plague Tail: Innocence back in 2019. The Anglo-French actor has however kept himself busy by appearing in Downton Abbey and The Crown, as well as playing the role of Hemet in The Witcher TV show.
Alejandra Reynoso takes on the role of Gallica in Metaphor: ReFantazio and has provided her tones previously for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Red Dead Redemption 2, alongside TV credits for Pokemon Horizons: The Series.
Finally, Gordon Cooper who voices Grius could be a good omen for Metaphor: ReFantazio’s Game of the Year hopes as he starred in last year’s winning title Baldur’s Gate III as the Oathbreaker Paladin. Since then he also made an appearance as Guangzhi in this year’s excellent Black Myth: Wukong. Gordon certainly picks his gigs well.
