Metaphor: Refantazio is finally here and it brings with it some fantastic turn-based combat and story elements that you Persona fans will love.
As you would expect, there are a lot of different personalities you come across as you progress, and some that you can also recruit.
Here, we’ll take a look at all of the playable characters in Metaphor: Refantazio so you know who you’ll be able to pick up for your party.
All Metaphor: Refantazio playable characters that you can add to your party
Including the main protagonist of the game, there are eight total playable characters on offer as you play through the experience.
This is a similar number to that of Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, for example, which had a total of ten.
Obviously, you start out with the main protagonist of the game and then as you progress, you’ll have the opportunity to recruit more and more allies to help you on the field of battle.
While most of these will be playable throughout the game after becoming a party member, there is at least one that is sadly only a fleeting partnership.
Here are all eight playable characters in Metaphor: Refantazio so you know exactly who you’ll be siding with along the way:

- Strohl
- Grius (Temporary)
- Hulkenberg
- Heismay
- Junah
- Eupha
- Basilio
Interestingly, all playable characters aside from Grius have a set Archetype right out of the gate.
This is due to his backstory in the game in which he has no bond lineage, coupled with a different story arc to most which you can uncover for yourself when progressing.
What this does mean though is that you’re able to set one for Grius upon unlocking different Archetype options.
