Jio cinema, which is one of Indian telecom career Reliance Jio’s app service that is free to use until the end of 2017 has been recently updated on the Tizen store for Samsung Z2 smartphones. Although there is notable difference before and after the update, it seems to have fixed a bug which used to lag the video streams during prolonged viewing sessions. The update is about 6.19MB and can be downloaded right away.
One of the major reasons for the Samsung Z2’s popularity in India came due to its partnership with the new Indian telecom career Reliance Jio. At the time of launch, Samsung had an exclusive tie up with Jio to offer 90 days of unlimited internet and voice calls and since the Samsung Z2 had VoLTE support out of the box for a an affordable price of around Rs.4,700. It had a lot of takers despite not running the usual Android OS. Later on, Jio extended the offer until December 31st at 4GB FUP per day and unlimited voice and video calling.
Jio followed it up by an announcement that it still had testing to do before a commercial launch of its telecom service and hence extended the free usage period until 31st March 2017 however Jio capped the FUP to 1GB per day and keeping the voice and video offers unchanged. While there are rumors of Jio possibly extending this free service until June, it probably is a hoax considering that Jio has already started recharge services for add on data once FUP gets exhausted.
