Fortnite refunding V Bucks after skin controversy – are you in line for the virtual cash back?

Epic Games is set to refund V Bucks to certain Fortnite players after a mix-up in the Item Shop following the latest update of the game. Yesterday we covered how the update had brought Fall Guys into the game, but, for around an hour it also included The Paradigm – a skin that had not been seen for over five years and was supposed to be an exclusive purchase back in the day.

This doesn’t seem to be a mistake as such as the official Fortnite X account posted about it but a later post from the Fortnite Status X account said. “Due to a bug, we unintentionally brought Paradigm back into the Shop and have since removed it.

Within the week we’ll be removing Paradigm from recent purchaser’s Lockers and refunding the purchase as this was a limited-time exclusive Outfit during Chapter 1 Season X.”

This created a bit of a fuss and two hours later Fortnite Status updated its stance, saying, “Change of plan! Bought The Paradigm tonight? You can keep her!

Her accidental return to the Shop is on us… so if you purchased The Paradigm during this evening’s rotation, you can keep this Outfit and we’ll refund your V-Bucks soon-ish.

We plan to create a brand new variant of The Paradigm that we’ll grant exclusively to people who purchased the original Outfit. Original purchasers will also have the option to refund this item if they’d like.”

So lots of refunds all around and happy campers (no pun intended) getting to keep the skin they managed to grab.

It’s difficult to see how something like this happened but Epic seems to have reacted (in the end) in a way the community approves of so everybody is a winner.

Fortnite will be hoping for a smoother arrival of the next chapter when it arrives in a little over a week’s time.
