Call of Duty games that have been released in recent years have become infamous for how much storage space they take up.
Because of this, fans of the franchise are sweating a little over the Black Ops 6 file size since hard drives around the world
Here, we’ll reveal what we know on how many GB Black Ops 6 is so you can get your console or PC storage prepped for install.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 install size explained
The Black Ops 6 file size was somewhat ‘leaked’ before the launch of the game thanks to the Xbox Store.
The listing on the Xbox Store for Black Ops 6 stated that it would be a 309.85 GB download which is extremely large, even by Call of Duty’s standards
However, since this was revealed, official Call of Duty socials have posted to refute the listing, stating that it is wrong.
In fact, the post suggests that this 300 GB number includes “the full installations of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone and all relevant content packs, including all localized languages combined” which definitely makes more sense.
It also reassures players that they will be able to play “Black Ops 6 at launch without downloading any other Call of Duty titles or all of the language packs”.
As for the ‘real’ install size for Black Ops 6 though, the only confirmed figure is that of PC which states that it is a 102 GB download.
There have been physical copies that have surfaced ahead of launch which do point toward a download size for Xbox users. This comes from the box art and suggests that you will need a minimum of 137 GB of free space to install the game.
This doesn’t take into account any day-one updates which will inevitably drop so keep that in mind if you’re scraping to get the above space.
