According to a survey, 76% of Millennials have avoided doing a particular activity fearing for their personal security. 90% of them believe that their dependence on technology tends to make them feel safe.
About 74% of these Millennials have been concerned about their security at some point in the past 12 months. 90% of them prefer taking a different route while going back home fearing their security.
The same survey also says that about 90% of the Millennials also believe that devices such as smartphones and smart watches tend to prevent their loneliness. However, many feel that their phones and watches alone are not enough to protect them under certain circumstances. Therefore 75% of them are interested in buying a personal security device of some sort.
ADT responded to this survey by partnering with Samsung to make their Panic Response application ADT Canopy available on Samsung smart watches. Jay Darfler, Senior VP, Emerging Markets says that
“Knowing Millennials often live an active, on-the-go lifestyle, ADT understands the importance of extending our capabilities and services beyond the walls of the traditional home or business”
He also says that “Samsung serves as a great partner to address the needs of this audience who often find themselves thinking about personal protection. Consumers who own Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S3 smart watches may now access ADT professional monitoring on-the-go with the ADT Panic Response available in the Samsung Gear Manager app”.
