As we all know, the Chrome OS runs on their Chromebooks, laptops, desktops etc. But have you noticed, that the OS has never been run on a tablet? Well, Acer has now launched the Acer Chromebook Tab 10, which is the first tablet to run the Chrome OS! The tablet was apparently modelled to compete with the iPad.
Specifications
The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 has a 2048 x 1536 display (9.7 inches). You should be able to get about nine hours of life out of this device. It has front facing and rear facing cameras with 4GB of RAM (random-access memory) 32GB of storage, USB-C port, and a microSD card slot (Now, that’s a lot of space) with a headphone jack. A great added feature is that the tablet also has a built in stylus that allows you to use various drawing applications such as Sketch.io. The stylus doesn’t need charging or need a battery which is a feature like the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2.
The tablet is going to sell for $329 in North America and is directed at the education market. Schools may already be used to the Chrome operating system because of the low priced and maintenance tools, but if the schools are looking for something more like an iPad, the Acer Chromebook can be the new preferred option. The Acer Chromebook will be released and be selling in North America next month and then will be released worldwide in May this year.
