Looking for Work at a Startup?

Hackers, do you think a job at a startup is right for you?

Looking for an efficient way to introduce yourself as a prospective employee to 30 Y Combinator-funded startups?

Then try the new YCommonApp.

The application process asks for you to submit answers by video to a variety of questions: Tell us about the most impressive thing you’ve built. Describe your ideal job.

These submissions will be distributed to the Y Combinator-funded companies who are looking for “hackers of various stripes.”

The participating YC alumni include Posterous, Heroku, Justin.tv, and Cloudkick.

Just chat into your video camera for a couple of minutes about your skills and experience. It seems much easier than crafting a cover letter.
