IT professionals using the free management and monitoring tools from Spiceworks will now be able to activate and manage services from Google Apps and Rackspace. Spiceworks announced today a partnership with Google and Rackspace to bring the new features into the beta release of Spiceworks 5.1. The integration will enable system administrators to manage even more IT assets in one place.
Specifically, admins will now be able to manage the following:
Regular fees from Google and Rackspace will still apply.
- Google Apps for Business, including e-mail
- Rackspace Cloud Server & Hosted E-mail
- Spiceworks Backup to the Rackspace Cloud
The addition of Rackspace and Google Apps is a huge win for all parties involved. Rackspace and Google Apps get the attention of the 1.3 million IT pros that Spiceworks has attracted since its launch in tk. Spiceworks gets more value by adding support for these increasingly popular cloud services. And customers get more tools in one place.
Besides Google Apps and Rackspace management consoles, Spiceworks provides both community features and IT services such as help desk, inventory and server monitoring tools. All of Spiceworks’ services are free but ad-supported.
