[Updated 7 Jan] iOS support for Gear S3, Gear S2 and Gear Fit 2 is now LIVE

Update: We have been contacted by a Samsung representative. Apparently, the announcement went out before schedule. This app is currently NOT available to download as it is in the final stages of testing.
[Update 7 Jan] – Today the Gear Manager app has gone LIVE for Gear S / S2 /S3 users in Italy, US, UK, Korea, Sweden etc. Global rollout has started, but you might have to wait for it to be released in your country.
Note: Some users are reporting they can not find the app by searching for it at the moment, but instead have to browse to find it
It would be fair to say that we have been waiting for iOS device support for Samsung wearable devices for a while now, in fact ever since 2015. We were originally expecting that support to come by January 2016 via a firmware update for the Gear S2, but unfortunately that date came and went and nothing happened.
A few months ago some users breathed a sigh of relief as the iOS Beta Program for Gear S2 went live. In August a leaked version of the Gear Manager app for iOS was found online and enabled more iPhone users to begin their journey into Gear Wearables. Last month Gear Fit 2 users also got a leaked app to join in the fun.
Now, Samsung has announced that the Gear S3, Gear S2, and Gear Fit 2 are officially compatible with iOS. All users need to do is visit the Apple App Store or visit the following link http://apps.samsung.com/gear (from the devices browser). Once the app is downloaded you need to click on the “Connect to Gear” icon and then the synchronisation process will begin.
Please note that some of the supported features and functions will vary by device depending on what device you are using. Support is for the iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, 6, 6+, 6S, 6S+, 6SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7+ running iOS version 9.0 or later.
