Android Go, the Google initiative to offer an optimised Android experience on low-end smartphones, has been quite successful so far. Many big companies have already launched their version of Android Go smartphones. From Samsung’s Galaxy J2 Core to Nokia’s Nokia 1, all the Android Go smartphones come with low-end hardware and an optimised software. Also, they also cost a lot less for a smartphone and Xiaomi, well known for making low-cost premium smartphones, surely wants to explore this segment as well.

The Redmi Go device certified by Singapore’s IMDA, the US’ FCC and Russia’s EEC will run Android 9 Pie (Go Edition). It will have a dual-SIM slot, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.2 for connectivity. The phone will reportedly have 141mm of height and 71mm of width along with a diagonal measurement of 150mm. This means the phone is likely carry a screen much smaller than 6-inches. Aspect ratio could be 18:9.
Also, the phone could come with ~1GB of RAM and ~16GB of ROM. And since it’s an Android Go phone, it may be priced somewhere around the $100 mark. Along with Singapore, Russia and the US, where Redmi Go has already been certified, the device may also be launched in the Indian subcontinent, where Xiaomi products are hugely popular.
