You may have heard of x264 for H.264 video encoding but recently a “x265” project has been released which consists of an open source library for H.265/HEVC video encoding which was approved in January of 2013.
This has been developed by MultiCoreWare whom have published initial code “x265” the open source projected created for the H.265/High Efficiency Video Codec. You can find the official “x265” project website at: x265.org , meanwhile MultiCoreWare have released initial code for the open source video encoder at: BitBucket.org
