With the advent of the Tablet, mobile computing has taken on new dimensions. You can take it anywhere (well, almost) and now that includes the car. So here we have the Arkon TAB Universal Tablet Car Mount.

This tablet holder features a strong adjustable jaw system that applies suitable pressure onto the tablet to hold it in place. It is designed to be used with Tablets of 7″ – 10.1″ and can hold heavy monsters like the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but can also accomodate the Google Nexus 7 (among others).
It features a 18″ flexible aluminum seat bolt floor mount that attaches to your car seat rail. There is also an additional bracket that can be used if you don’t require a permanent installation.
Coonected to the floor bolt is a gooseneck rod which is very strong and RIDGID and to be honest with the type of items it needs to pickup it has to be. Who would want something flimsy?
The tablet holder connects to the gooseneck via a 360 degree adjustable ball which allows you to position the screen where you require it. If your anything like me then you do need it just “perfect”.

Conclusion:
If you are looking for a solid permanent (or semi-permanent) tablet holder solution in your car then the Arkon holder might just be what your looking for. If its occasional use then this can be seen as a bit of a overkill but never the less does offer peace of mind protection from dropping your tablet.
You do have to be careful to make sure that your car is supported as unfortunately I couldn’t install this in my BMW 530D.
