Samsung has released a new software update for the Samsung Z2 for users in Indonesia. The new Tizen platform version 2.4.0.7 brings some bug fixes, performance improvements and new features. This latest version comes as a replacement to the Tizen version 2.4.0.5.
The new version has an update size of 90.3MB for the firmware version Z200FDDU0BQD2 which is listed as made on 17 April and it began pushing to devices via Over the Air (OTA) yesterday. Aside from taking the platform version to 2.4.0.7, the new firmware version also brings along with it the following changes;
- Improved device stability and bug fixes, including for network connections that are now more stable than ever.
- New features and/or feature enhancements, now including new options for calling via Wi-Fi in the notification panel.
- Further performance improvements, including battery optimization and overall performance consistency.
Apart from these changes and new features, the new firmware version also brings improvements to applications and services from Facebook, such as Facebook and Messenger applications that are already installed by default on the Samsung Z2. Also the WhatsApp app has got an update to a new version yesterday through the Tizen Store.
How to Update the Samsung Z2 to Tizen 2.4.0.7
If you are in Indonesia and you own a Tizen-powered Samsung Z2, you should get a notification to download the update, if not then do the following steps to get the latest firmware version, here is the procedure:-
- Go to Settings and Select About Device
- When it opens, click or tap on “Check for Updates”. The process will commence automatically.
In order for you not to incur data charges from your mobile carrier on your Z2 during the update, it is best to switch over to a Wi-Fi connection. Also, ensure that your battery is fully charged or that there is sufficient power on the battery because you mustn’t switch off the device when the update is running.
