Throne and Liberty – how to get salt and what to do with it

Salt is a key ingredient in life, never mind Throne and Liberty, but it is rarer in the latter than you might hope and sometimes takes a little searching to get a decent supply.

Salt is used in cooking recipes. Once you have learned how to fish you are going to need to season your catch as well as use it in countless other meals. But as an Uncommon item, how do you find it quickly and efficiently so that you can spend the rest of your play time having fun? Let’s find out.

How to find salt

A good way to collect salt is to farm it from monsters that habit the shoreline. There’s a full list of what we know of so far below but suffice to say sea-dwelling creatures such as crabs and lobsters are a good starting point. Salt is uncommon so it does not drop every time, but if you hang out around the area for long enough you should be able to generate enough to get by for a while.

Urstella Fields and Windhill Shores in Laslan are the best places to head for Salt so make sure you aim to unlock those zones as soon as you can.

Send off your Amitoi on expeditions to these areas and they will return with salty rewards for you. If you combine this with a little crab hunting you should soon have enough to keep you going.

How to use Salt

Salt is used at the cooking locations in Throne and Liberty. Interact with the oven and the Cooking menu will pop up. Many of the recipes listed will require salt, which you now have, so you will be able to chef away to get what you need.
