Steam has kicked off its latest themed sale, the Steam Capitalism and Economy Fest, starting 8 Jan and running until 10 am PT on 15 Jan. The fest celebrates all things money, with discounts and demos available on games that center on a player’s ability to make money.
Here are some of the best deals available in Steam’s Capitalism and Economy Fest:
Jurassic World Evolution 2 – 70% off
Although Jurassic World Evolution 2 was released in 2021, it is still receiving attention and updates from the developers, Frontier, with a new expansion released as recently as Nov 2023. A park management game where players can create their very own Jurassic Park from scratch in a sandbox mode or play through a campaign of handcrafted challenges, Jurassic World Evolution 2 boasts incredible graphics and voice acting from legends including Jeff Goldblum. Not to be missed by any management sim or dinosaur fan, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is 70% off, and all the DLC and expansions are also reduced, even the recently released Cretaceous Predators Pack.
Prison Architect – 80% off
Despite being quite old now (having been released in 2015), Prison Architect is still a titan in the management sim genre. Play as the warden of a prison, designing cell blocks, quelling riots, and managing executions in your very own prison. For some extra fun, you can also engage in an attempted escape from your prisons. Prison Architect and all four of its paid DLCs are discounted so you can get the lot for less than $15 – it’s such a steal you might end up inside your own prison.
Storage Hustle – 30% off
While not as steep a discount ass some other games in the sale, Storage Hustle makes it onto the list by virtue of how fun it is. Storage Wars is a tried and tested formula for light entertainment, and now you can put yourselves in the shoes of eager buyers, bidding on foreclosed storage units to discover what treasures await within. Or maybe you’ll end up with a pile of garbage. You don’t know if you don’t bid. The game is still in early access, but initial reactions from players have been positive and with a huge update released in late December, development continues apace.
Transport Fever 2 – 50% off
There’s something deeply reassuring about the popularity of transport simulations. There will always be an excellent game out there to build roads and railways and chart flight paths as soothing music plays in the background. Transport Fever 2 offers gameplay spanning from 1850 to the present day, a map editor, and an expansive campaign mode. It’s visually stunning too, modeling a huge range of vehicles in high detail. If you’re even remotely into transport sims, don’t miss Transport Fever 2 while it’s 50% off.
