There are so many iPhone apps available (and perhaps so few iPad apps yet) that few geeky things can bring people together like sharing their favorites. My favorite way to do that is through Appsfire, a service that lets me select any number of apps on my phone and send links to them by email to anyone I’m talking to.
Appsfire has long been clever and useful, but the company sent us a demo video last night of its next version. This version is radically different and includes far more app recommendations, comparing apps with friends by Bluetooth and more. Check out the video below.
The new version of Appsfire has been submitted to Apple and is awaiting approval. There are a number of services it competes with, especially in the automated recommendation sector, but as an easy way to share my favorite apps with people I meet – I haven’t found anything as good. I hope that as the service gets built out it won’t get overburdened with features, losing its simple charm and utility.
This new version looks pretty cool, though the app is already very high on my must-have list.
