Scarlett Johansson, the actress best known for playing Black Widow in the Marvel movies, has spoken out after an AI-generated video of her went viral. The video, posted onto X, formerly Twitter, depicted several Jewish celebrities wearing a white t-shirt with the word “Kanye” and the middle finger printed on it.
"Enough is enough."

Kanye West went on an anti-Semitic and generally bigoted rant on X last week, before he deleted his account. During the Super Bowl, in some areas of America, a local advert played sending people to his clothing brand’s website. The site had removed all products and had begun selling only a swastika shirt. Shopify has since removed the website.
In response, a generated video featuring Sacha Baron Cohen, Jerry Seinfeld and Drake, among others, began circulating around Elon Musk’s platform. However, no one was informed or involved with the video.
Speaking with People, Johansson said, “It has been brought to my attention by family members and friends, that an AI-generated video featuring my likeness, in response to an antisemitic view, has been circulating online and gaining traction.”
While she doesn’t condemn the message, she does stand by her stance that AI-generated content is damaging:
“I am a Jewish woman who has no tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech of any kind.
“But I also firmly believe that the potential for hate speech multiplied by AI is a far greater threat than any one person who takes accountability for it.
“We must call out the misuse of AI, no matter its messaging, or we risk losing a hold on reality.”
Johansson has taken a firm stance against AI. OpenAI is being sued by the actress after its voice assistant essentially used her voice without permission.
Kanye thanks Musk for allowing an anti-Semetic rant
West has paraded his anti-Semitic views for years, claiming that Jewish people have tried to sabotage his career. His rants have turned dedicated fans against him, and he’s since been dropped by his agent, as well as losing his partnership with Adidas in 2022.
Anti-semitism and Nazi ideology have been on the rise across the world. This hasn’t been helped by the head of DOGE.
Musk was accused of making a Nazi salute recently and has also shared Jewish conspiracy theories on X. He also recently virtually appeared at the far-right German party – AfD – conference.
During West’s tirade, the account was only slapped with a content warning. Under the previous ownership, it would have been wiped, however, it only got taken down after West himself deleted the account. Before this, West thanked Musk for allowing him to “vent”.
